I am going... to lunch with a friend

I am wondering... what things to let go for this season

I am reading... A Monastery of the Heart

I am hoping... the sun shines today

I am looking forward to... my husband's ordination this Sunday evening

I am learning... Spanish, if ever so slowly

Around the house... bird books and binoculars

I am pondering... the Sermon on the Mount

A favorite quote for today... Who is rich? He who rejoices in his portion. ~ the Talmud

Daybook for January 26, 2009

FOR TODAY January 26, 2009

Outside my window...cold, dreary, rainy Monday

I am thinking...that I hope we get snow instead of ice on Wednesday.

I am thankful for...a quiet day at home, and that I don't have to go out in the cold!

From the learning rooms...Lots of delight-driven studies- dogs (yes, they all want their "own" puppy!), cutting and pasting, list-making, organizing, reading, math games and flash cards.

From the kitchen...beef roast marinating in the crockpot, chicken & dumplings or veggie curry for dinner.

I am wearing...jeans & red sweater

I am creating...garden plans.

I am going...nowhere at all today.

I am reading...Romans, The Secret Message of Jesus, How It All Vegan (no chance I'll ever really become vegan, I like dairy foods too much; but it does have some yummy sounding recipes), NatureWatch, Hobby Farm, TOS Magazine, oh and SEED CATALOGS!

I am hoping...that we can find a bigger house soon, my is it squished in here.

I am hearing...girls giggling at a silly animal dvd.

Around the house...decluttering and organizing after this weekend's sewing fest.

One of my favorite things...Creamy Creations Cappuccino Crunch ice cream....Mmmmm!

A few plans for the rest of the week: Staying home and out of the cold until Thursday evening, when I'll venture out for our small group meeting in the evening. Decluttering and organizing the desk and bookshelves in my "office" area, working on a cookbook I've been meaning to get written.

Here is picture thought I am sharing...

Chocolate cake, real Buttercream frosting, drizzled with chocolate glaze...from my dd's birthday. Sure wish I had a piece right now!

The Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY November 17, 2008...

Outside my window...the welcome warmth of sunshine after a very chilly night.

I am thinking...about having another cup of tea :) !

I am thankful for...a husband who blesses me daily with his kindness and love.

From the learning rooms...lots of natural learning, or organic learning, dare I say, "unschooling"?

From the kitchen...French toast for breakfast, chicken and dumplings for dinner...comfort food!

I am wearing...a t-shirt that says "NO WHINING ~ Do everything without complaining or arguing...Philippians 2:14" . Somedays I wear this for the children's benefit...somedays for my own ;). Oh, I shouldn't leave out the very pink fuzzy slipper socks!

I am creating...a plan for Christmas crafting, and some new things for my blog.

I am going...to stay right here at home all day.

I am reading...Simple Pleasures of the Home.

I am hoping...to get my supplies for Christmas crafts ordered today.

I am hearing...David Crowder's Remedy.

Around the house... clusters of plants brought in from the chilly weather, Apple Cinnamon candles flickering on the tables.

One of my favorite things...Geranium essential oil.

A few plans for the rest of the week: packing, perhaps even moving to our new nest this weekend!, helping with Food for Families this Friday evening.

Here is picture thought I am sharing...

A cute little Pumpkin Tree my eldest daughter created this weekend :) .

The Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY...

Outside my window...cool Autumn breezes, misty rain, leaves turning shades of gold, orange, and crimson.
I am thinking...I hope we get moved into our new nest in time for Thanksgiving.
I am thankful for...a peaceful morning at home.

From the learning rooms...Bob books, Zoo Math, The Borrowers Avenged, Learning Language Arts through Literature, The Easy Spanish, and others.

From the kitchen...Cherry Crisp and Turkey Chili

I am wearing...A well-worn, and well-loved denim dress, hair gathered in a loose pony-tail, bare feet which will soon find their way into cream-colored knitted slippers.

I am creating...I am attempting to learn to knit, once again. I also have a very long list of sewing projects that I have yet to begin.

I am going...nowhere today, playdate and library tomorrow.

I am reading...Reflections of God's Holy Land

I am hoping...to get my To Do list completed for once.

I am hearing...children giggling and splashing in the bathtub, sounds of mixing and stirring from the kitchen.

Around the house...boxes both packed and not yet packed, a desk that needs clearing.

One of my favorite things...tea!

A few plans for the rest of the week: Declutter my bedroom, pack up everything except daily essentials in preparation for our move.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing...from our visit to the Fall garden yesterday:
