Rest

feet
"Come to me all you who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest."
One of my very favorite verses.
I particularly love this one in the Amplified version which says I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls
Oh, but how often do I ignore these words; and instead spend my time worrying, working, and wondering how I can fix things on my own?  When instead I really ought to be taking full advantage of His offer of rest, relief, and refreshing.  Oh, and that blessed quiet for my soul He also promises ... in a life as noisy as mine is lately, blessed quiet is something to be treasured!
As I write this my daughter is in the next room working out the chords to Restless by Audrey Assad ... beautiful song, such truth-
I am restless 'til I rest in You.
May you find a place of quiet rest in Him this weekend kind friends!

  3. My husband and I were just talking about this topic earlier today. We get so caught up in doing, fixing, and worrying, it isn't until we are tired that we finally call out to God.

    Great post!

  4. You are so right! I think as a teacher I am always so " in charge" and I have to step back and realize that I am not in control at all and that I must....Let go. Let GOD! It is so much easier when you are not alone. Thank you for all your positive remarks, you are a breath of fresh air. Did you get some rain? We got around 8 inches yesterday in Chattanooga, we really needed it!
