Today I'm oven drying the last of this season's tomatoes.
I sliced them lengthwise, placed them on a baking pan, sprinkled on a bit of sea salt, drizzled them with olive oil, and popped them into a 250 degree oven. In a few hours they will be ready to use in a recipe or put in the freezer for another day.
Now that the summer garden is behind me, I'm plotting and planning for the fall/winter season. I'm thinking broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, beets, chard, spinach, leeks, garlic ... and herbs, can't forget those- parsley, cilantro, salad burnet, pot marigold. And then there are the flowers- viola, pansy, snapdragon, mums ... I do love fall gardening!
What do you grow in the fall garden?
Your tomatoes sound yummy. I have planted much of the same, but still need to get more seeds in and esp. flowers. Looking forward to fall here too!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
What do I grow?
ReplyDeleteWeeds, that's what.
So I shall live vicariously through you. :-)
